Welcome to my ad. My name is Jim and I am a long-time Santa Monica resident, 100% honest and legitimate. There can be scams on Craigslist, especially in the housing section, so please be careful. If you want to see what I look like, please see the last photo above. I am the guy in the middle. The other two are recent former roommates: Douglas from the U.S. and Mohamed from Egypt. I have a nice, affordable room for someone visiting Santa Monica for a short term of 1 to 3 months. I especially enjoy learning about other cultures, so international visitors are preferred, though all will be considered. The room has two beds, as shown in the photos above, so it is ideal for two friends traveling together and wanting to save money on lodging. I can also rent it to one person as well. This fully furnished bedroom is available as early as March 1st, or as late as April 1st, in my light bright 3 bedroom/2 bathroom Santa Monica apartment. I can be flexible with the move-in date. If you are looking for a room anytime in the coming months, March, April, May, June, etc., feel free to let me know as I usually rent this room for short terms of 1 to 3 months and am happy to reserve the room ahead of time. I enjoy learning about other cultures, so international travelers/visitors are preferred, though everyone will be considered.Your rent will be $950 per month for one person or $1250 per month ($625 each) for two friends. No couples please. I ask a small $500 fully refundable security deposit. The bedroom is fully furnished with a queen bed and a second full size loft bed, so it can work for either one person or 2 friends. It also has a large dresser with mirror and spacious walk-in closet. Perfect for visitors to Santa Monica. Short terms of 1 to 3 months are fine, or longer terms may be considered, but I do prefer shorter terms as I enjoy meeting new people, especially from other cultures around the world. See above photos for many of my past roommates from all over the world, including Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Russia, France and many more countries. Month-to-month agreement, no long-term lease to sign. I pride myself on providing safe and friendly accommodations to visitors to Santa Monica. This is a nice room that I built in my living room with walls made out of Japanese Rice Paper Shoji Screens and ceiling-to-floor curtains for privacy ~ see photos above of the room and of many past roommates from all over the world. Also, as part of your room you will have a balcony with a nice view of a courtyard filled with fruit trees, as seen in the first photo. Other important info… All utilities & wifi included in rent ~ nothing extra to pay ~ just rent & security deposit. Laundry facilities in the building are free to use ~ no charge. You will have access to a fully furnished kitchen. Safe and convenient location close to grocery stores, restaurants, the beach. I am vegetarian so a willingness to forego eating meat in the apartment is appreciated. I enjoy learning about other cultures ~ international visitors preferred but all considered. Environmentally-minded household ~ I recycle and compost everything possible. Please be neat, clean, no drugs, no smoking of any kind. Drinking is okay. At the very least, please mention where you are from, what you will be doing in Santa Monica (work/school/visiting), when you want to move in, and how long you want the room.
